Some people define punk a little differently....IF you include the New Wave/Synth 80's punk, then I would tell you of a great band who had two EP's called Calculated X. They were a Memphis band who to my knowledge never got beyond a local label, but they had a big regional following and got tons of airplay on the local rock station. You'd probably only find them in vinyl, but I bet they'd sound great on CD if they ever issued their music that way.

the simpletones, the *****, t.s.o.l. (not that obscure, but always a winner), angry samoans, fear, m.d.c., the meatmen, agent orange, redd kross, the crowd, the germs, circle jerks...just to name a few
