Most of the big mall movie theaters don't serve meals. Just drinks, popcorn, candy, and (sometimes) nachos. Occasionally you might find a place that serves hot dogs.
Depending on where you live, a large popcorn and two drinks will run you $10-15. Including two tickets, your total bill will be $25-40, unless you go to a matinee or to the dollar movie theater.
Some of the art house theaters will sell different kinds of foods and drinks.
Unless you go to a movie theater that specializes in also serving dinner, you usually won't get a meal. The link below is for a dinner and movie theater in Raleigh, where we used to live.

In San Francisco, a smaller theatre (not Loews or AMC) is $3.75 for a small; same theatre serves veggie hot dogs and ice cream for about $4.50 each. Larger theatre like Lowes is about $5.
