I am considering another drastic life change. I am in an unsettling relationship. I am trying to design and run a 3rd world sustainable development project... on my own (for a group of folks who just want a fair chance in life). I just read Jeffrey Sachs, "The End of Poverty". On my reading table are books by the Dalai Lama, Stephen King, Brooke Medicine Eagle, and "Finances for Dummies". I head an ethics committee that oversees research, and we have a major government inspection coming up in less than 2 weeks. I have 10 lbs of fresh strawberries I need to do something with. I sustain my development project through jewelry and artwork. And I am trying to get back into writing. Is that enough?

Right now I am working on a thesis on Michel Foucault, so he is my current fuel for thought. He really has amazing ideas. Since reading some of his books I have come to question the very foundations of the modern order. Really good, though difficult to read, philosopher. Read "Discipline & Punish" if you ever have the chance.

My wife and kids. I feel responsibilities towards them, a need for strength i truly don't understand, a need just press my nose against the grindstone a little harder to get what we need done.
My life would be no better or worse without them, it just simply wouldn't be my life.

Choose your friends wisely, Friend.
Others have enormous influence. The more we care about someone, the more their opinion matters.
