my boyfriend and i would like to start fencing(he did in highschool).
does anyone know where to find the foils cheap? i have tried ebay, amazon and a few fencing websites. any ideas?

you really don't want to buy used weapons unless you know the former owner (some owners are harder on weapons thus cutting down the weapons life span). you first need to decide whether you want electric or dry (depends on whether you want to compete and whether your local clubs have electric fencing available).
my suggestion is to get a starter set from one of these places...
physical chess
blue gauntlet
triplette
absolute
you should be able to find them if you put their name in a search engine.

See if anyone from the high school or local college fencing clubs or teams wants to sell used equipment. Put up a flyer on their bulletin boards.

the hardware store like lowes, or home depo, their fences are pretty reasonably oh you want foil try a grocery store lol
