just wondering that what exactly does it show when we click on view source. i know it shows the HTML tags for that web page. but my question is does it show for only that page which we are viewing or for next pages too for that web site , b coz sometimes it appears too long to me.

Yes it only shows for that page you click the "view source" option on.

Sometimes its longer than normal because a lot of websites use tons of javascript.

The part of the html is when it starts with either or

and ends the same way as well.

You can learn a lot viewing the source of htmls because you can see the architecture of the page.

Just the HTML code for what you are viewing in the browser at that moment.

Keep im mind that unless it's a simple webpage with a .html extension, the html code you see was probably put together by the server when you requested to see the page... based on a script/program the webmaster put together. The html my not be the same for every surfer or everytime you view the page.

only the page u are viewing. sometimes it might seem like there's too much code, but that is normal. It is usually either a lot of javascript, hidden fields or encrypted data (which can transform a 5 letter words into a 128 character string for example, making the code both incomprehensible and unusually long).

Only for the page you are currently on. It takes a while to load. That is normal because some websites use a lot of code.

it shows you how that webpage was written in HTML code or whatever other codes or scripts are on that page
