Sure he's tight assed, but he's a leader and has to be in order to reign in the hot heads. Also his power is awesome. His eye blasts can destroy mountains and all he has to do is look at you. He CANT miss. Think about it.

He's just so full of himself! His eye blasts are cool, I totally agree, but man, he needs to be put in his place. Rogue could kick his a$$ any day of the week, but he's gotta be Mr. "Wonder Boy". Sorry, I kind of went off on a tangent there. He just needs his ego to be downgraded a bit.

Not everyone hates Cyclops. I actually like the character, & have for years. I honestly like all the original X-Men, & a lot of the ones who have been added to the roster since the first 5. I'll admit I'm getting tired of Wolverine. He's received so much overexposure, he's now in half the freaking Marvel titles out there. Cyclops is cooler in my opinion, because he does what needs to be done for the good of the team & the mission, & is less prone to fly off the handle & do something stupid. Of course, I've always liked responsible superheroes. My favorite is Spider-Man.

Just judging by the movies and not the whole history of the stories: I have to agree that he is somewhat lame. Although he is good in the heat of battle, so to speak, he comes off as somehow needy as well as self-righteous. Also, the fact that no matter what Jean says, she is still strongly attracted to Logan (who in their right mind wouldn't be??) and because of that there is a weak spot in her relationship with Cyclops, which he senses and reacts to. It just makes him appear as if he is desperate but pretending otherwise, and completely transparent. So, although his power is, indeed, awesome, his personality and attitude kind of ruin the effect. I don't hate him, he's just far down the list.

Everyone hates Cyclops because everyone loves Wolverine and Wolverine hates Cyclops so of course they will hate him, it's like an equation. Oh, and he can't even look Jane in the eyes like Wolverine can, otherwise he'll shoot a hole through her head..

Yeah, but think about it most people don't like tight assed people I mean look a Professor X he is the leader and he isn't tight assed and most people like him. Most people don't like Cyclops because he is just well....lame and he can never take off his shades because of his powers, that sucks.

Random Person, "Oops sorry Cyclops I knocked your shades off"
Cyclops, "Oh no my eyes are open"
Random Person, "Ahhh you just shot a hole through me! You suck!"

I think it's because he's "Mr. Goody Two-Shoes". Cyclops is the type of person who follows the rules and expects EVERYONE else to follow them, too, no matter what the situation is like.

That's not true every one doesn't hate Cyclops. I think he's a work of art. He's cute, loves his gf/wife, great leader, great powers he's PERFECT! He' great. I hope this helps answer your question. Good Luck!

You answered your own question, he's all like , look at me, i'm mr. smarty pants and i think that im the boss of you. and his power is lame, what good is it when he has to wear that visor thing over his eyes, he cant have a normal life otherwise....
