There is no such thing as a over weight baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! babies very in size my son weighed 12lbs at 8 weeks and we weighed 7lbs 11oz at birth my girls didn't hit 13lbs until 3 months.
a friend of mines niece is already outgrowing 6-9 month clothing and she is only 3 months.
So you have absolutely nothing to worry about also the amount of formula he takes is just fine.
Just enjoy your son and relax before you know it he will be grown.

my son was born 8 Lbs * oz and by 1 months he was 10 Lbs and change, over 12 by 2 months. It all depends on how big your son was at birth, mine was a little shorter but never looked really chubby until around 6 months old. I think that by 6-8 weeks he was also drinking about 32-26 oz a day in 3-4 oz each bottle.

I wouldn't be concerned, he might just be growing faster than some others do. My nephew was born 6 weeks to the hour after my son and was 1 Lb less but a little longer, he is wearing 18month clothes right now, my son is wearing size 3. They are only 1 size apart for shoes though, Alex is in size 6 and Gabe is in size 7. My son is a lot closer tin size to his cousin 2 1/2 years older than he is to his 6 week younger cousin. His 4 year old cousin is only in 1 size bigger for clothes. It is crazy really.

My son is 16.2 pounds and he is only 3 1/2 months, the Dr. said that its ok, and when he starts to crawl and become more active he will slim down, he isnt over weight he is the 90 percential for his age, he is very healthy... I used that lipil iron, but cut down because to much iron isnt good either, you should talk your doctor- but my Dr. said right now its not time to worry about overweight babies.

it depends on his height and initial birthweight. If you are concerned, wait until his next checkup (should be two or three, depending on your pediatrician). Ask for your child's growth to be compared with standard growth curves and see what your doctor says. Truth is, an infant generally won't eat more than he or she needs becuase newborns run purely on instinct. CONFESSION! I am not a mother. I'm in my late teens, but I have a two year old brother and a six month old sister who I care for a lot, so I do know the ropes.

My baby was 14 lbs 9 ounces at 2 months exactly and now he's 16lbs 9oz 3 mos/.. but his weight matches his height as long as those two are in the same percentile your baby should be fine. Mine is strictly breastfed.

He seems a bit overweight to me, but I am NO doctor!! This is the type of question you MUST ask a doctor about, not those of us on Yahoo. You are looking after your child. You do NOT want misinformation from an uninformed source. Call or see your pediatrician who will give you the correct answer.

I hope this helps!!

My son is 6 months old and he is 22lbs right now. He was 6.5 at birth and 13 pounds at 8 weeks. His pediatrician says he is growing fine. At first he was concerned but recent visits he has said he is happy, healthy, and right on track with his skills. Mine was strictly breastfed!

Sounds healthy to me. Some babies are that much at birth. The important thing is that he's gaining weight consistantly. No worries.

Please disregard the comment about your baby being over weight. He's doing exactly what he's supposed to be doing at this age, and that's growing. Babies need the fat for brain development. Your baby is not over weight.

It depends how big they were when born, and how much they put on per week ect. speak to ur family health nurse or doctor if your worried as long as their weight is consisten i wouldnt be worried, if however they were born like 4lbs then that would be a worry lol
