I am Dominican, but I have never been in Punta Cana and my DH and I are plannig to go there in a few months, I was wondering if somebody can give us an idea of how much money we will need to have a decent vacation of 5-7 days? does anybody knows?

I went in November 2005, from Milwaukee Wi, my friend and I spent approximately $750 PP all inclusive for 7 days.
Don't pay any mind to the person who said 7g's -if you spend that much you're trying!

there are so many good deals, check with the listings for travel agents in your area, tell them that you want a good deal to the DR, thru applevacations or funjet.
Don't let them tell you can't get something for less than $1000 pp- if they do there handing you a line!

as much as you would for any vacation, there is no right or wrong answer. Just be careful and dont get talked into helping out all the resort workers. Remember the DR is a very poor country, and life is very hard. Many people at most AI resorts feel that if you can afford to come down on a vacation, you must be rich. Blame this on what they see on TV about the USA, Canada, and most every other country. They have a very distorted view of why so many people travel to the DR. It is very inexpensive to go there, very resonable to stay there, especially if you stay at an AI and it is the most wonderful country I have ever visited. Read the travel section in your local paper for specials, and there is a great internet web sight to check out its called DR1 and anything and everything you need to know can be found there. Many people post to that sight that either live there or vacation there. very informative.

I used Apple Vacations to go from the US, but, if you are going from the Dominican, you would need very little cash. My daugher and I stayed at and just loved the Iberostar. Almost everything is included there. If you are going to buy any gifts, you would need that money and some people went horse back riding outside the resort (I would stay in the resort). They have vendors with jewelry come in some evenings - some pretty stuff, but, it is very resonable. We spent less than US $200. over the all inclusive. I think you wil just love it!

I would say to see what the exchange rate is because you will spend less money that way and just st a list of what your going to do an call out before hand and try to get price just dont act like a tourist.lol So I would say give or take 675 for the both of you combined

One of my employees just went and his trip cost for two for 5 day 650.00 each. Everything included.
He had a great time. Call your local travel agent and they will tell you which place is the best.
