they took the pic just b4 adams poked him in the eye, then slapped him 'cross the face.
i think that's where the 3 stooges got part of their act...

It isn't itn the 2 dollar bill. the artist painted over that. In the picture, I hear it was because adams and Jefferson were fierce rivals. So jefferson bribed the artist to paint his foot over Adam's foot to show he would always be one step ahead of him.
