If it's yellow-orange, it's antifreeze. MBs don't use green antifreeze. If it's red-orange, it's ATF. If it's amber to black and slippery, it's engine oil. If it's nearly clear and smells like gasoline, it's gasoline. Those all warrant attention.

If it's clear and odorless, it's water from the AC. That's normal as long as it's draining underneath the vehicle. If it's draining into the car, the drain line is blocked or the air plenum is cracked. Both need attention.

Fluid?? If you have been using the AC and there is a sufficient amount of humidity and the fluid looks like water it is most likely just condensation (from the air) and is a normal occurrence, If the fluid is black and greasy feeling then you have an oil leak somewhere (gasket problem most likely) if it is a minor leak (a few drops) just check your oil more often, if it is a "puddle" then you will need a gasket replaced. If the fluid is red and slippery it is automatic transmission fluid, check the fittings and clamps to see if any have come loose or a line has a leak, or maybe the pan gasket need replacing, is it "just a few drops" or a "puddle" again that means the difference between checking fluid levels and taking the car in for repairs. If the fluid has a green color to it it is "coolant" and you have a leak in your cooling system someplace, if it is from under the radiator area it may just be coolant that has escaped from the overflow (running the AC causes the radiator to work harder because engine is also running the AC compressor). Most likely the "fluid" you see (if it looks like clear water) is condensation (Water in the air that has cooled and condensed) from using the AC and is to be expected, a normal occurrence, nothing to worry about. Always be concerned about fluid leakage from any machinery. The first thing to do is lay some white butcher paper under the car when parking it after a drive and see what the fluid looks like. If it's clear and evaporates quickly with no residue then it's most likely water vapor from the air condesed by your A/C unit that drips down as it sits in one place after having been run and getting chilled, no need to worry there. If it's any color at all, then that means it a fluid that's supposed to stay in the mechanical works and needs further investigation. If pink, it could be transmission, power steering, or brake fluid. Some motor oils are pink when fresh also. If it's brown it's likely to be engine oil. If it's green tinted it's likely to be anti-freeze coolant. All of those are cause for concern, as the vehicle needs those fluids to operate properly. If the fluid is bluish it is most likely windshield wiper fluid, which is not a major cause of concern, but you might want to look at your wiper fluid resorvoirs to check for cracks and check the level of fluid, and then re-check the level again 2 days later. Your car will run without it, but you might want to clear your windshield of some bugs or ice someday, and it is handy fro that.

Depends on the fluid. If it's clear, it's just water from your condenser--a couple of tablespoons' worth is nothing to be concerned about.

If it's green, black or red, you're looking at antifreeze, oil or transmission/power steering fluid, respectively--and all four are reason to take the car to a reputable Mercedes shop to have the leak checked.

any leak is a potential problem. determine what the fluid is. ex: if it is red, that would indicate transmission fluid. If it is water after you have run your ac most likely it is condensation and nothing to worry about. oil generally found underneath near center of car after parking. check all fluid levels ie, power steering fluid, radiator coolant level, brake fluid level, oil. If any are low bring up to proper level and then check again in a few days. if any are low again that may pinpoint the problem.

What kind of fluid? If it is water from the air conditioner, that's normal. Anything else, see a mechanic. Isn't a 2005 still under warranty?

Your A/C unit is SUPPOSED to discharge water used for cooling. So if the liquid you see is clear and has no odor to it would be fine. If the fluid is any other color or thick in some area's (like rubbery) then take your vehicle to your authorized Mercedes-Benz service center!

Most of these answers are correct with one small thing. Mercedes no longer uses red transmission fluid its clear now also. Still on a car that new it should no leak. My guess would be its the a/c.

uh, that's probably just water then from the a/c. if it's break fluid you could be in deep doo doo. Get some on your fingertips and see what the consistency is. If it's slick/slippery then worry. If it's like water don't.

Depends on what fluid. If your using the A/C, it is probably water which is normal. Put your finger in it and taste it, it should be pure H2O
