The world probably seems unreal to you as you start alone in the day. The number of times you look for the missing part of your life seem countless but life does go on. The world around you has been feeling hallow for quite some time but it is still there. You need to start to pick up the pieces and begin the renewal. Look at what is realistic for you in the short term and how you can support yourself both financially and emotionally. Instead of always thinking about the good stuff think about the negatives and how lucky you are that it ended now. There are still loads of good years ahead for you and surely others will step in for the missing partner. Get out in the world and meet new people. This is the first day of your new life so start it with something positive like a new clothing item or perhaps a little trip.

Yes. I would like to say that it will be all better soon, but in my experience is that it takes a long time.

I think the best answer is to continue to love the person as a friend, and not try to replace the relationship right away. You have other gifts, talents, and goals and needs, and this is when you can spend some time on them.
