Getting Glue Out Of Carpet

Elmer's makes a variety of products and clean-up can vary depending upon the formula.
School Glue or Glue-All products - soap and water are usually all you need to clean up these products. If it's on clothing, just launder as recommended by the manufacturer.
Rubber Cement on Carpet - Try to "ball up" the mass of dried Rubber Cement between your fingers. Any remaining residue should be cleaned with a dampened cloth and Rubber Cement Cleaner/Solution. This product can be purchased at Office/Stationery or Hobby/Craft stores. Repeat applications might be necessary for more absorbent or lighter carpeting. Be sure to test the solution on an inconspicuous spot of carpeting before using to be sure there will be no negative effects on carpet fibers or dye.

Elmers glue uses a latex base (glue). For the most part, any solution sold in Home depot to remove latex paint for nylon paint brushes will remove latex glue from nylon carpet. However, do not saturate the area because carpet uses a synthetic latex to glue the backings together. Pour on a cloth and blot. This will break the glue down more slowly, but it will work.

Elmer's Glue is water soluble. Try soaking it with a warm sponge for a while then scrubbing.
The first answer was correct.

I know that glue dissolves if you apply paint thinner or mineral spirits, they don't have much of a smell, you could just get it cleaned after it comes off. Best I can do, hope it helps!
