From about what age are footballer recruited and about what age (30, 36, etc) are their careers over usually.

Also does their position determine the expenciency of their career. Like do GKs last longer than fielders.

An excellent player (Rooney, Ronaldo, Ronaldhino, etc.) will probably start playing top level football at the age of 18/19. His career, barring major injury, should last until the age of 33/34 although in some cases 35/36.

A good player (usually the rest) will probably break into top level football at the age of 22/23 and should play, on average, for about 7-8 years.

A good goalkeeper can play well into the late 30s, even 40s (Dino Zoff, Oliver Khan, Peter Shilton, etc.) as the physical demands on their bodies is less than an outfield player.
