First of all, if I was the Lakers, I would keep him just because of that move he put on Shaq in January! But he was just a rookie, and what he needs is more minutes cause even Kobe didn't play that much his rookie year, but he got better. Besides, no one is as sorry as Kwame Brown!

Good Question. We have to take a look at a few comparrisons Jermaine O'neal to answer this. Jermaine was in the league for three season after being picked 17th before he made an impact, and look at him today.

Also look at Erik Dampier - How well did he defend Shaq in this years finals? He was chosen 10th in the same draft and he was able to make an impact.

The answer is NO the lakers are not wasting their time, Andrew Bynum is being schooled by KAREEM ABDUL-JABAR one of the greatest centeres ever to play the game. Bynum is young and he will be a terrific center very soon, just watch.

umm...andrew bynum has very good potential and is working out with kareem but last season he really didnt show any star proven talent and he didnt make a presence in the post and wasnt an efficent scorer so unless he shows something this season i think its a waste of time and the lakers should find a new shaq

I'll have to say so because even though he's a rookie (well not anymore but you get the idea) he hasn't impressed me. He had ONE highlight the whole season & it obviously wasnt a memorable one because i cant even remember who he dunked on. But one thing about the NBA is that they are lacking great centers. When Shaq leaves the era of the dominant big man will be gone as well (say what you want about Yao Ming) & Andrew Bynum sure as hell isnt going to be a name that would come up to resurrect that.

No he's has a lot of heart maybe this year Phil will get him more playing time. Did you see the way he stood up to Shaq? He's gonna be OK, although if Garnett is available then the Lakers have to do whatever to get him even trading prospects.

I think they're wasting their time...especially since they have Kwame Brown and Chris Mihm also developing.
