why is it so common for young guys to pick on an overweight young woman?

i am asking this question because i see it happens a lot.

i think young males like to pick on overweight girls because they think it is amusing to see someone in pain. Maybe this one of the factor that cause young women to have poor self esteem and they tend to place a lot of their worth based on how they look like.

How we look like does not determine our worth and who we really are.Our society has it all wrong...our inner self has more worth than how we look like...it is not the other way around!!!!!!!!

I asked this question because I want to know what others think

Companies tells us that we need every products in the world because they want our money,most seem to care about our emtional well being.Beauty companies tells us that women need to buy all their products ...all of this is a bunch of lies...we do not have to buy everything on the market to add worth to ourselves...

B/c younger people tend to look at what's on the outside instead of what's on the inside. For the most part, when people are insecure they will pick on someone else to cover up what they believe are short comings in their own life. Someone who is confident in who they are, don't need to put others down or be a crowd clown to make other people like them. I also believe the ones that make these types of remarks are the very ones that like overweight women. They are just afraid of what their friends might say. It's kind of like the people that are extremely homophobic, they make a whole bunch of noise about how disgusting it is to be a homosexual, but those are the very ones that are homosexual. I find that the criticism people have for others is not really about that other person, but somehow a reflection of themselves.

Really? I don't go out that much(stuck in my house, lol!). Maybe because overweight young women are generally nicer and more sensitive than thin or average women.

After all, they're not the ones who are overeacting on everything or a drama queen like some girls. Other than that, I think it's because they don't look for material wealth whenever they're dating someone.

I mean, come on... beautiful skinny women usually have more options than everyone else. So of course they'll choose someone who will bring them the more benefits. No offense to any girls though.

It's funny though cause I tend to feel more attracted to not so skinny man. Skinny are just... skinny. I prefer someone who is nice to hug aka the bear man lol! ^__^

Well I guess that some boys don't like fat young women because some guys expect young women to be pretty so they make fun of them because the person is fat. I'm a boy I see that sometimes beauty nisn't on the outside but on the inside. For example u could marry the prettist woman in the world and she could be boring, dull, idiotic, and just plain a dope.

Because the media makes sickly thin women out to be gorgeous and desirable, while making women bigger than a size 6 out to be fat and terrible looking. People in general need to realize that judging someone on looks alone isn't what makes someone worth being around. Personality is always going to last in someone, while looks will not.

Young people in general pick on the 'easy targets'. Unfortunately, in our society, we are so trained to believe that normal is equivalent to thin, that beauty is in your clothing size. Young people are so afraid of what their peers think of them, that they will direct everyone's attention to another person, and easier target, to get the attention off them. It's the same with anything that is 'different'. Freckles, acne, height, chest size, intelligence. Everyone has insecurities, those who are more insecure will point out others to take the focus off them. Unfortunately, some will not change, even as they grow older.

I think that thin girls get a lot of attention and the competition is difficult for some males. Taking out a heavy girl is easier for them and the girls are more appreciative. I always dated the thinner girls but had many heavy friends.

Young guys see the overweight young lady as an easy target. Fat is hated in the West. One of the last socially acceptable people to pick on are fat people.

Young guys wanna look cool in front of their friends, so they pick on everyone, including and especially young fat ladies. I guess it makes them feel bigger, but they wind up looking like a bunch of immature weenies.

It is very common isn't it? Well because some people can be very rude and very inconsiderate sometimes. I am a very lean person I still get picked on sometimes in life...that goes with everybody else. No matter who you are or where you're from, you will still get picked on. Think about it this way, even celebrities some people think they're perfect, they still get picked on. So, no hard feelings. Don't be too hard on yourself. And people in life aren't fair!

Oh, I think it's just because they think the girl will be an easy lay, what with the low self esteem and all. I've had friends who've done this, and it didn't seem to be because of the girls' "pain" -- they just wanted an easy lay, and they generally got it.
