They arrived as Arab conquerors capturing small kingdoms, and they stayed for 800 yrs. mainly in the south of Spain and Portugal. They used this lands in order to invade France, but Charles Martell (Charlemagne's Grandfather) defeated them and they remained in Spain.

They were expelled from Spain by Fernando and Isabel the Catholics in 1492 with the fall of Granada city.

After this date, they were pressed by the law into emigrate or convert to Catholicism (avoiding poverty) or being expelled and losing all belongings to the crown.

They went to Arab speaking countries mainly North African ones and near Asia.

The only Arab blood (from those days) arrived to the US via Black Irish people, an interesting gene set you must search on!

The Moors were Arabs from North Africa who invaded Spain for religious reasons. After they were expelled many still stay in Spain. The ones that got outta Spain ended up in various parts of the Islamic world. There's no way they could end in the US because North American wasnt discovered yet.

The Moors were people that came from north Africa. They were muslims and of arab origin most of them.
According to the tradition, they came because somebody called them and stayed for seven centuries, until the Catholic kings defeated Boabdil and forced them out of Spain. They had to go back to north Africa.
About if any reached the US, I doubt it

the moors are usually mistaken for africans...however many of them were from the middle east (such as arabs and muslims) who were conquered by spain and brought over to be servants. many of them spread throughout europe...hardly any pure moors should have reached the united states...this was before discovery of america.
