In selling my car I was asked for a copy of my license and to sign "Power of Attorney". Is that normal?
I have sold many cars and never been asked for a copy of my license or to sign a 'Power of Attorney' form. Does this sound normal to anyone or does it sound like some type of a scam?
Thank you!!!

Power of Attorney allows someone to access all your bank accounts. What were you thinking?
Sure hope your accounts were dry or your screwed!

I make a copy of the buyer's driver's license & have them sign & date a Bill of Sale but that's about it...don't know why a Power of Attorney form was involved..?

This seems to be a new law or something, because I had to do the same thing. We just traded one vehicle in for another at a reputable car place, and we had to do that same thing, so don't worry about it.

The power of attorney form simply means that when the bank sends a form to finalize the vehicle transfer, they don't have to contact you, but can complete it in your place. This is what was explained to me, to the best of my recollection.
