What is your culture's creation story?

well, since I am an american my cultures creation story is this.... back in the 1700's there was a guy who choped down a cherry tree,and his buddies dressed like indians to throw tea in the harbor to protest the taxes. then a great war was fought in which mel gibson defeated the british, even though he isn't even american but australian. but the aussies had to throw off the yoke of british oppresion too so mad max is on our side. then some guys with a fife drum and flag made the brittish sign a treaty creating the culture to which I belong.

I'm Dutch.

The Holy Roman Empire (sort of Germany) was attacked by Spain, in one of their offensive fronts the more Germanic than Roman people ran north into the northern part of what is now the Netherlands. Over the years the Netherlands were under Spainish occupation. When Calvinism came into Europe Many Dutch people converted and the Spanish king sent out an inquisition. After a while of the persecution the Dutch revolted and there was a war. The war lasted from 1566 to 1609, 43 long years. The war ended in a truce but finaly in 1648 Spain recognized the new provinces of the Dutch.

My Dutch culture had influences from the Norse regions (Norway, Finland, Swedan, Denmark) Low Germanic influence, Roman, and of couse Spanish.

i used to be catholic, so i will tell you my former belief....Adam and Eve...right down to th disgusting inbreeding (sick Christains!)

my current belief: mordern humans and mordern chimpanzees sshare a fairly recent common ancester. there was no god involved.
