I am a huge Elvis fan, and I'd just like to know what your favorite Elvis song is. Explain why, and if your answer rocks my blue suede socks I'll give you ten points.

"In the Ghetto".

(If you love Elvis like I do then you know what I mean)

"As the snow flies.......
on a cold and gray Chicago mornin'
a poor little child is born,"

I was homeless for several years as a kid. Lived on several creek banks as a result. Mom and 6 kids. Me being the oldest. We had it hard I guess, by today's standards. And real enough we took a bath and washed our clothes in Sweetwater Creek in Douglasville Georgia.

We awaited the "snack wagon" that came by to serve up hot dogs and snow cones during the Summer. The guy usually gave us snow cones for free! I guess kids need more then snow cones but he didn't know we needed food.

"Kentucky Rain"
Seven lonely days and a dozen towns ago, I reached out one night and you were gone..."

Maybe moreso for my Mom, but I can relate, as happenstance begots happenstance. But we woke up one morning to find that my dad was gone. I remember I was in the fifth grade when we got there to Sweetwater Creek, and once we found a home I had to repeat my grade. That was a very long time ago. It was also the first time I heard "Us Mail" I had it on 45 until someone borrowed it and I never got it back.

"American Triolgy"
Oh hush little baby, don't you cry,
you know your Daddy is bound to die"............

I have always had a special connection to this song. Not actually having my Dad "live" with us until I was 12. The song came later of course.

But when my husband was 6 years old his father died from lung cancer.

Well I live in Georgia USA and we have a spectacular lazer show at Stone Mountain? My husband, his Mother and I saw the show. Well old South and all I guess "American Trilogy" is just a part of Southern heritage.

The lazers hit the carved face of Stonewall Jackson, and my husband feel into tears. The words to "American Trilogy" rang so poudly and patriodically that all I could see were the heads
of those that stood in front of us.

Elvis is the KING for many reasons.

I will add that my home office is clad with pictures and Elvis memorabilia. I have a print of a commissioned painting of Elvis done in 1977. And for $50 I purchased that Postal Service framed Elvis stamp and drivers liscense.

So why would anybody be an Elvis fan? I would ask them why NOT?

My favorite Elvis song is Heartbreak hotel becauseit describes how much I miss my mother that just past away and it makes me so lonely without her I feel like I want tobe with her, but I know I cant. I really miss her and that is why that is my favorite song because we use to listen to it with each other and sing along with it and now evertime I hear it, I start to cry, and I am not lying. My mother just did pass away and I am only 16 and I miss her like crazy. She was my bestest friend in the world and now I dont know what to do. Now am the only one who sings alaong to the words, no mother to sing backup with me. Thats why that is my favorite song.

A Little Less Conversation...and the modern remix used during the intro of Las Vegas (NBC TV Show) is pretty good too. C'mon, a song that says in very few words that there should be less talky and more action. I know classy....

Blue Christmas. It's a sad song, but it's the first Christmas song that my six month old daughter laughed to this past Christmas when my husband and I were introducing Christmas carols to her.

Are You Lonesome Tonight? is my favorite because I think he was at his best when he sang slow ballad type songs. Love Me Tender would be my second choice.
