First off, there is and cannot be such a thing as a Utopia in society. Humans are incapable of such cooperation. Communism, as it was in Russia, isn't really that far from what we have today except we have a few freedoms left. because I'm not an uppermost class of elitist, I pay 35-45% of my wages to the government and receive no services in return(because I make too much money, ha). The elite don't pay anything and most get something. Tyranny is a style of rule that can be used under many different socio-economic systems. The one that appeals to me the most ( and this may draw ire from both the right and left) is a socialist democracy with a spiritually based philosophy. Not a strictly Christian, Jewish, Muslim, or any particular religion but spiritually meaning all faiths would have equal say. I'll probably not see that happen in my lifetime but I think it could work without a whole bunch of fighting. The goal of the society at large would be to enlighten there fellow sentient beings. And with all those different paths, it may actually happen. And as far as the Atheists are concerned, well that is a path, too.

As Karl Marx wrote, "Revolution is necessary not only because the ruling class cannot be overthrown in any other way, but also because the class overthrowing it can only in a revolution succeed in ridding itself of all the old crap and become fitted to found society anew."

Communism thus means not just a new form of society, but a new form of human consciousness, free from the distorting pressures of capitalism. Only in this way will the human capacity for self-determination finally become a reality.

Thje problem is that many Capitalist Media purposely confuses people about what "communism" is. Stalin was a totalitarian dictator, the furthest thing on earth from the cooperation and People's control advocated by Communists.

China and Cuba, like the former Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc, have nothing to do with Communism. They are state capitalist regimes. True revolutionaries support the struggles of workers in these countries against the bureaucratic ruling class.

Utopia is something no one can comment on, it is an unknown, a hope, a goal... but who knows how we could get to that? It is too far down the way and any revolution that could happen nowadays has to begin with dreaming, with mental power... with imaginign that another type of world is possible.

Tyranny is not hard to envision - the fact that about *% of the polulation controls the rest and people in the lower 80% work hand to mouth trying to make ends meet, shows clearly what tyranny is all about.

Did we vote to go into Iraq? Hell no, we were told that the US was going in, against the will of the US citizenry. That is tyranny.

It can be much worse of course like China where slavery is a reality, but we do get a taste of it here for sure.

You have to ask yourself where you stand, what type of person you are, do you want to join in a long line of people concerned - form Malcolm X to John Brown to Jane Addams to Noam Chomsky to Emma Goldman on and on... those who fight for justice... or are you going to join the ranks of Hillary Clinton, Condi Rice, the entire press, the system that succeeds in failing us every day.

The choice is yours.

find the facts then decide.

Communism is a great idea. Unfortunately people get involved. The idea of do all that you can but take only what you need sounds great. Everybody gets what they need. But of course their will always be people who think they need/deserve more than others. And there is a huge lack of motivators for input into the system. People like to compete. And money/ possessions are a way to keep score.

Man has a nature -- he's individual, his brain is not a collective. You needn't go much beyond that recognition to realize imposing a collectivist culture (communism, fascism, theocracy...) is anti-man and warping -- doomed to create agony.

Anything that initiates force (physical [threat]) is evil.
