What's the big deal with pre-marital sex?

People make such a huge deal about no sex before marriage. Most people anyway.. Why is it such a big deal? I mean, sex is a pretty big part of marriage, not that it revolves around it, but being that we are ragging with hormones and are human, it does certainly help to have a healthy sex-life. It might even be said that a bad sex-life can severely damage an otherwise healthy marriage. So why wouldn't you wanna sleep with a perswon before you marry them. You may save some hurt in the long run.. Of course you could get a whole salad of festering STDs that look like portabella mushrooms and jalapenos between your legs too, but what's life with no problems? That's what heaven's for.

Most cultures have taboos regarding premarital sex. Some have evolved from religious beliefs while others are merely a traditional more. I think it is important for an individual to decide what role sex will play in their whole being. If sex is just a rhythmic release of raging hormones and something to experience for pleasure then pre or post marital doesn't matter. If however, a person views sex as the ultimate culmination of an evolving relationship between two people, then it takes on a more mysterious, almost religious aura...that special sex that binds a covenant between lovers should be reserved for marriage. Regardless of the level that sex plays in your life, it is imperative that you practice safe sex...not just to avoid an unwanted pregnancy, but rather to protect yourself from sexually transmitted diseases like HIV-AIDS, hepatitis, chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea , and herpes.

It's like this Johnny, if you save yourself for marriage, you are less likely to be disappointed because you don't have any sexual experiences to compare. That's why alot of ethnic cultures & religions forbid premarital sex.

ya i agree sex before marriage isnt a big deal, people who make a big deal about this kind of stuff are usually jewish people.
