Well in South Africa we celebrate Mother's day in May, Fathers day in June. Halloween is also celebrated but it is not a holiday. Every 31 October a few people do trick or treat in the evening.

Here in Australia we celebrate mothers day in May, fathers day in September and I am sure the international communities celebrate their holidays as well, Chineese new year is big here in Australia. Some people do stuff for holloween but not as much as the Americans do. WE don't have a independence day but we do have Australia Day on the 25th January.

Halloween isn't about celebrating "demons". you may want to favor to look into that a touch extra and benefit some perception. It become initially a Celtic holiday to have a good time the best or Autumn and the starting up or wintry climate, and become favourite as Samhain. Which had its roots in Pagan custom, following the cycles or the seasons, and the transition from, you guessed it, Fall to wintry climate, or end or the Harvest into harsher cases. The church got here and suggested nicely we favor assorted those people to transform over yet, they are going to be fearful about switching over in the experience that they ought to memorize all new vacations, so as that they determined to easily change the present ones up somewhat to in good structure more advantageous into their scheme. consequently the beginning of Hallowe'en, or All Hallows Day, or All Saints Day, component to the Triduum of All Hallows or Hallowmas, it is a social gathering to commemorate the handed Saints and Martyrs, and honest Christians. As for Thanksgiving, it is a visit commemorating the perils and fulfillment of the pilgrims that got here to visit to u.s. to colonize. The party is with reference to them surviving a horrid and cruel wintry climate and by no skill about close by community as such assorted trust. The British were extremely pissed with each little thing that went down following the puritans putting out off and the finished American imaginitive warfare and all that, so that you will see that why they'd be adverse to celebrating that express holiday. As for taking sweet from stangers and the finished Halloween/sweet connection, that's observed as commercialization of religious or social custom, very comparable to Valentine's Day (an afternoon to commemorate a clergyman that married couples at the same time as the church forbid it) or the origins of Santa Claus (Saint Nicholas who gave sanctuary to prostitutes to save them from the terrorism of Church and State).

Honestly, I think that the only holiday celebrated in every country is New Year's Eve/Day.

They celebrate Christian Holidays worldwide? For some reason, I doubt they celebrate the birth of Jesus and the resurrection of Jesus in Afghanistan, and other countries, where it's illegal to be Christian. Or in countries/areas that haven't been converted.
