I was overweight when I got pregnant. The only thing is that the doctor will more closely monitor your weight-gain and also your blood pressure and sugar levels. You might get tired easier, but other than that, if your doctor says you're OK, just do it! If you don't have any major health issues you should be just fine! By the way, I had natural child birth. No C-section for me! Good luck!

I would lose the weight for your health and the health of your baby. You will have many factors to determine your risks for a C - Section planned or unplanned. They may also send you to a nurtionist during your pregnancy so, you only gain the weight need for your child. You will also be allowed to gain less wieght if you are overweight when you get pregnant.

I don't think it would be as hard on the baby as it would be on you personally. If you're already overweight, you know it can be a little tough and tiring already, combine that with about 50 more pounds, bulging veins, and an elevated body temp. and you'll be miserable. I would loose some weight first, comfort during pregnancy is very important, it helps ur stress level stay down.

You won't be more likely to need a c-section, but I heard that if you need an emergency c-section it would take longer to get through the layers of fat tissue which in turn could harm the baby depending on what the problem was to begin with.

Dont listen to her. But it is easier to get pg if you start losing weight , thats how i got pg the last 2 times , you just need to go to the lamaze classed and you will be fine. I had 2 c-sec and they are no big deal so dont worry about that. there are many people that have had vaginal deliveries and are overweight .. if you think about it your pretty much overweight when you give birth .. good luck to ya .. if you have any questions feel free to ask me . It is MUCH easier to concieve when you are at the appropriate weight. Lose the weight, THEN worry about getting pregnant. You don't want baby, pregnancy fat to pile up on top of "already had it" fat! That will be EVEN HARDER to lose!
