Depending on who you ask, normal is at least 20 million or at least 50 million. Either way, his is very low.
Has he been retested? There can be many reasons for a single low test, even in a man who has a normal sperm count. He should have at least 2 more tests with a week between each just to be sure.
If he's exposed to heat, eliminating it will help. Sometimes this is tight fitting underwear or pants. Sometimes, it may be work environment. I've heard of wearing an ice pack near the testicles (might help if he can't change his work environment, for instance!!). Even daily *hot* showers may be the cause; stick to lukewarm or cool.
If his low sperm count is caused by exposure to toxic substances (including smoking, alcohol, drugs, or work chemicals), eliminating any of these may help, too.
Otherwise, just keep trying. It is low, but there are still 2 million possibilities!! Don't have sex more than once every other day in order to give his body a chance to build up a larger count.

Go and see a fertilization specialist as they are the best help... it all depends on the diet and types of underwear... tighty whities are know to cause this as they keep the nizzies up to close to the body and sort of burns off the swimmers... boxers are better they let the nizzies hang down and cooler thus making more of a enviroment to make swimmers...

well smoking decreases it .. wearing briefs.. i heard drinking soda increases it. It really doesnt sound like his count is too low.. try getting an ovulation scope thats how i got pg.
Are you trying to get pg??? if so make sure he doesnt "waste" his good sperm. Make sure he puts it to good use... good luck .. lisa

the average male produces 15 thousand new sperm EVERY DAY.....You do the math. His count is fine.
