My 8 year old would like to know what was the first bridge built in the world and the first built in the united states.

It was built by Marcus Aemilius Scaurus in 109 over the Tiber near Rome as part of the Flaminian Way.

Can't find one that was built in the USA past 1812. But I am sure there is one some place.

I'm afraid that question is not answerable (unless you constrain it somehow to certain size bridges or steel bridges.

Anytime somebody through a log over a stream or crevice and walked across he had built a bridge.

Humans have been building simple bridges everywhere there were humans ever since there were humans.

The first bridges were just logs prehistoric people put across a brook. As ther were prehistoric people in america they did they same thing. Then they got more sophisticated but still that was thousands and thousands of years ago.

The first bridge was built in 1882 &it is called the SUEZ canal.
