It's called GREED. In most cases that 3% at some time or another have stepped on the other 97% to get to where they are. Don't get me wrong, there is about 3% of the 3% that are not selfish and greedy. At least I believe it's true in America.

Because there are billions of people in the world. There is also money being made as I type this. If everyone work's hard, that money is being split. So the money is made and it is split into parts. But then people who are rich also have earned a lot of money like Bill Gates. Eventually, rich people get a lot of money and the rest of the world has 5%.

Because most people believe that the universe is not abundant and will not provide what they need..so they hoard away as much as they can...greed motivated by fear.

Money allows us to store wealth like a battery stores energy. Instead of living a simple existence, taking what we need from the earth (food, water, shelter) we are able to use money to hoard away vast amounts of resources..far more than we need.

Unfortunately, it seems that the more we are able to move away from a simple existence by hoarding..the more we forget our connection to the earth and each other..and the farther away we become from the earth..we loose our relationship with it...I think this is why the richest people, who have the power make a difference rarely do...they are disconnected.

NO NO NO......... It's not greed....... it was the industrial revolution in the late 1800's. See it was actually the other way around back then 96 percent of the people WORKED FOR themselves........ But what happened is they all sold out to work for an industry and bring home a weekly paycheck... it seemed like a no brainer to them and safe and secure for them and their family. Only the 3-5 percent of the richest people work for themselves mostly.......
