How can freckles be treated?

To treat freckles that are already present, several safe and effective methods are available:

1. Bleaching creams -- Products containing hydroquinone and kojic acid can be purchased without a prescription. Higher concentrations of hydroquinone (over 2%) require a prescription. These products can lighten freckles if they are applied consistently over a period of months.
2. Tretinoin -- Sometimes used in conjunction with other bleaching creams, tretinoin (vitamin A acid, Retin-A) also helps to make freckles lighter when applied over a period of time.
3. Cryosurgery -- A light freeze with liquid nitrogen can be used to treat freckles.
4. Laser treatment -- Several lasers, especially ones that produce a green light, can lighten and eliminate freckles safely and effectively. Like cryosurgery, this is a simple and safe procedure with a high success rate and a low risk of scarring.

As one "Freckle Faced Kid" to another, you don't..so you may as well accept them, embrace them, and if some wise butt calls you "spot" BITE THEM! Seriously, don't waste your time and money on "Freckle Cream", the pigment is genetically based and no matter what you do those freckles are there to stay, just be yourself, accept yourself, and if people want to cop attitudes about the way you look you probably don't want them as friends anyway. A good way to get people to "lighten up" is make jokes about yourself (this shows them you don't care abt the freckles thing), get a Dalmation and say "Yeah it's contagious, see this dog, he used to be all white..keep hasseling me and I'll make YOU look like this too!" One I use is "Yep..and when they all grow together I'm gonna have a really nice tan!" Nye

I'm not certain on this but I don know that being in the sun makes freckles show up more. I think if the freckles will ever go away, it will be with age.

Freckles will go away as you get older. The best cure is NOT to go in the sun. Always wear SPF lotion. The sun will make even more freckles appear. Besides, freckles are cute!

I've heard lemon juice can help. I've read of diminishing creams, but I understand that they are expensive and not much good.

Otherwise, nope.

The good news is that freckles are really sexy to some people, and very few would be turned off by them if they liked someone. I say embrace the spots!

freckles; rid of freckles???!!???? ARE YOU NUTS? Freckles are adorable, I don't care WHO they are on!! Only a few (it seems) have freckles. It totally distinguishes you. You ought to just feel very confident that your freckles are RIGHT WHERE THEY NEED TO BE!

Stay out of the sun, for one. You can pay to have your skin professionally lightened.... you can also try talking to a dermatologist. I have freckles, and there was a lotion that I was prescribed for a skin irritation that also helped to lighten my freckles. The name is Lachydrine (Lack-hi-drin) is how it is pronounced... not sure if the spelling is right (I just ran out, actually)

Chemical peels can help reduce the appearance of freckles, which are really caused from sun damage but never fully remove them. Also derma abrations which is done at a salon, will help hela your skin from sun damage

If you don't want to accept freckles as a beauty mark then you can use a foundation makeup that is the color of your skin, or else go to a dermatology clinic to see what they can do.
