Never heard of one, but my friend got home and had a duck sitting on your porch and does not live anywhere near a pond or park where a duck might be.

Yes in Wales it's a superstition that means great fortune will befall a person of the household. usually the head of household. It means really a wish they you've longed for will come true.

I've gotta admit , you have a pretty funny question there, I don't think there any superstition about a duck being on a porch. Although I have heard something about crows being around, means there might be a death in the familiy or someone in the household or surrounding neighborhood

depends on the color of the duck-------and what type of shoes you were wearing when you saw the duck!!----was it cloudy or sunny out??--all these things will make a difference----was it a male duck????--or a female duck???---are you sure it wasn,t a goose---or maybe even a gay squirrel???---all these things will factor into the old yugoslavian duck on your porch superstition---

All physical things are symbolic, it probably means something, kinda like dream symbols mean things for us. Duck symbolizes spiritual vulnerability; questionable inner strength. Now if your friend applies this symbol to her/his life, it should mean something.

Since superstitios by their very nature are not real, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
