Because the England gaffer is an idiot...they were playing a 4-1-4-1 formation, and should have moved to a 4-4-2 with Crouch and Rooney up front to exploit Crouch's height advantage, but Erickson is an idiot and let it continue in the same formation...I'll be so glad when he's gone after the World Cup

Because 'the Swede' is a 'moron' and knows as much about football as a 'jock' or a 'scouser'!
'Rooney' is NOT 100% yet and he plays him out of position and as a 'lone sriker'? the man is an idiot!
The problem with playing 'robo Crouch' everytime.. is that teams learn how to mark him.
In the next game... 'Tefal head', has GOT to leave all the 'dead wood' (Caragher) out the team/subs. Aaron Lennon and Michael Carrick have done more than enough, to merit a FULL 90 minutes, 'Becks' should play an attacking right-back role, with 'Aaron' in front of him (they linked well against Paraguay) and 'Hargreaves' must start showing; the commitment he showed yesterday... in every game, from now on!!!

Crouch was getting ready to come on, and then Becks scored...Once that happened Sven decided to tighten up the midfield and didn't make the Crouch sub.....you can read it on the World Cup page under England's quotes

First of all, his finishing has been suspect (i.e fluffed chances against Sweden and Trinidad). Second, Ecuador are known to be good in the air. In addition, there has been a great deal of pressure for the inclusion of Carrick. As the current midfield is pretty indispensable, a striker had to give way, and that sure as hell wasn't going to be Rooney. Because Beckham pushes infield often, it was necessary to replace Carragher with Hargreaves at right-back, as Hargreaves is better going forward. Against Portugal, however, I would be surprised if he isn't given a run-out as a substitute.

He would have been really difficult mutch up for Ecuador defense
- they do not have that tall defenders
