I'm going to assume you want own a domain name kind of like your real name (or the screen name you are using). The easiest way to see if a dot com name is available is to use a website with a search function like Network Solutions. There are literally hundreds of sites that have a search capability to see if the Domain Name you want is available and then you can purchase it. You can also get a name like Pamela.net or Pamela.org or any of the other Domain extensions available.

The name belongs to someone but the site has not been developed. I'm not going to post the owner's name because I sure wouldn;t want my personal info all over this web page but anyone who knows how to look it up can certainly do so!
