you keep learning it starting from the first day of your life and your preferences keep changing by the time,your brain processes the images you see in a way which you dont understand and creates a progressive pretty/ugly discretion for you,but the main facts for the prettiness perception are usually based upon the golden ratio on things you see.

Monte is right MEDIA. MY Granny used to say "beauty's only skin deep and ugly's to the bone." In your answers I hope someone defines what they think is beautiful and what they think is ugly.

That is a sociology question. The people who have power make the 'norms' such as what is 'right' and what is 'wrong'. Look around in each country - beauty is the ideal image of the people in charge.

It usually depends on how much the person looks like what is considered purdy (I luv that word purdy lol) in the messed up world of Hollywood. Well, usually, anyway. In some cases, people just have personal preferences. Like, I luv guys with dark hair. . .

u find out if theyr ugly or pretty in there persinality its the best way cause u can tell if theyre pretty or ugly but u shouldnt judge people by their looks because every one is beautiful in there own way

i dont think there is an ugly in this world. i think its different. if everyone thought different was ugly than this world would be quite boring.
