we had a couple.,, the first one was so huge.. that the cage trap...we put out almost didnt hold him or her. but we used green peppers and the local trapper in our town came and took the rolly polly out to a wooded area. the second one was easier to get rid of... he was under the cement at my back door.. so we put amonia soaked rags in there... and it was too much for the creature. he/she moved. and we sealed it up.

Haha...embrace it. We've got a couple resident groundhogs. Their winter home is under our neighbor's garage, but their summer condo is under our shed. They don't hurt anything; they're actually kinda cute. We've named ours Fathog.
Here's a picture of Fathog (or Fatbaby) just this week:

I have had great success using mothballs -spaced 2 - 3 ft apart around my gardens to deter rabbits -squirrels - groundhogs and even my dogs. They cost less than $3.00 a box, and last more than a month before they evaporate

I live in Springfield Mo. Shooting my resident G.H. is not an option. Moth balls are toxic, period. I tried trapping with live catch, but all I caught was Opossum night after night. I asked an Old Timer about some tricks and he told me to pour some Kerosene or diesel fuel around and into the burrows. He said the ground hogs don't like to get the greasy fuel on their coats and can't lick it off when they clean themselves. I had a very entrenched (for years) G.H. burrowing under my house, my shed and my garage. It ate my garden plants and veggie plants and flowers constantly. It was brave enough to be out in daylight and browse right in front of me. I poured some dyed diesel around and down into the burrows around my crawl space and he has not come back ONE SINGLE TIME. I still see it in the neighborhood, but not on my property!

They are such vermin! I have one in my garden right now, and I'm going to let my neighbor use his mole trap to get this one, just as he did the last time. I hate the darn destructive things!
My lawn guy says if you put bubble gum in their tunnel, they'll try to eat it and it'll kill them. I never tried that one.
An old wive's tale says that if you have a man urinate in their tunnel, they'll leave, but I can't get the guys I know to test this one for me, darn it! I think that'd be a hoot!
