Someone asked what the Dept of Homeland Security does and got 80% extremely negative respones. Any planes hit your building lately? I love how all these people never think of joining and changing these "incompetent" agencies from within. Oh I forgot, that fight is "unwinnable", just like the War on Drugs, and Terror and Iraq and the deficit.

Sheesh, whine much?

PSEUDO OBSCURE- Damn you are lily-livered. Yeah, don't get involved, just vote and whine. Glad you're not in my squad.

I love how there many agencies like the DHS long before 9/11 and the incedent still occured.

No one is looking for a change in the individual baeurocratic agents, but rather change in their superiors, primarily the elected ones and those they have appointed. The negative feedback was probably inspired by unappealing policies and unsatisfactory actions taken by political leaders that have shifted violence from here in the states to overseas.

Sure, a new department may be protecting us more from terrorists, but you still cannot walk down any street in Camden, Oakland, Baltimore, Newark, Jersy City, Detroit, the Bronx, Philadelphia, Miami, San Antonio, Watts, Compton, and even were the headquarters of the DHS is located without having to worry about encounters with a problem of domestic violence. I live in the middle of Amish country, Lanc. PA, and I've been mugged, ambushed, offered drugs, offered sex, and I still can't get a welfare check to make reparations.

um, maybe because the people in the wrong [the folks ya mentioned], are the most established, financially endowed, and control media outlets, law, as well as other things.

they are extremely powerful, and their propaganda is strong.

it's big guy vs. the little guy.
nonprofits have a hard enough time finding funding. they're slashing funding for public radio and TV, education, and etc., for the sole purpose of throwing more and more money at the illegitimate war in iraq.

dude. they're war criminals.
they don't listen to reason.
nor do they have to. they are presently the most obstinate, yet also the most powerful political force in the world.

i think you're the misinformed whiner.
get your facts straight before you start dissing activists.
we work our effing knuckles bloody for scrawny paychecks (if anything at all) for the betterment of this country, so #$@ you.

I'd guess it's because the changes that need to take place can't take place from within.

Most of the real changes have to be made from the outside, where a full perspective of the matter can be seen and where you have abilities to make the changes without being fired or getting in trouble because you are using inside information against a group/organization.

Hope that this helps.

Actually, I'm in the military and have seen first hand the incompetence of the elected leadership. So what have you done?

Because it is so much easier to sit back and whine. If it did get fixed they would just whine about something else.

Because that would mean they would have to put their *** where their mouth is and they are to f*cking cowardly to do that.

Why should they when they can stay safe at home and piss and moan about it incessantly.

American liberals are the scum of the earth.

Um, can't we just vote for competent politicians to manage this for us?
