so theres a convention comeing up. and i want to cosplay for the first time.
i have an idea of a character to construct but i have no sewing skills whutsoever.
were do i start?
are there any websites that can give me some pointers for newbies??

Check out your local thrift store,you may find something there to use as a base for your costume, and then you can alter it to suit your need by adding accessories.

Browse through patterns. You'd be surprised what you can find. You can accomplish alot, even without altering the patterns (which isn't hard, and helps the costume look more accurate).

Mostly, though, it's about creativity. Experimenting is totally ok. :D

if you cant sew,. hot glue is your friend. Use a hot glue gun instead of sewing and no one will be able to tell the difference

or...
get someone to sew it for ya & tell people you sewed it!

call around to your local fabrics shops, they usually have classes. even if they don't, the ladies there are very helpful and there's usually a bulletin board of ladies who will help you for $.

go to a craft store they will help some offer classes.
