of the two the 350Z. the are better cars. for drifting a light weigh Rear Wheel Drive car is what is preferd. Comon car are
1.1989-1997 Nissan 240SX
2. 1985-1986 Toyota Corolla *aka* AE86
3. 1980-1995 Mazda Rx7

those are the most comon in my mind anything in a FR lay out would work. if u look in at Formula drift u see vipers drifting so sky is the limit.

I personally would go for the 240 due to the cost of getting one Versus a very pricey 350Z

On tarmac -- the 350Z.

On gravel -- the Mitsu.

Drifting pretty much requires the ability to break the rear tires loose and smoke them as you go around corners. The Mitsu's AWD makes this virtually impossible, at least on asphalt, because when the rear tires start to break traction the center diff shifts torque to the front wheels.

On the other hand, if you've never driven an AWD rally-inspired car on a twisty gravel road, you are missing one of motorsport's finest sensations. Check out an SCCA rallycross for a chance to taste this without a lot of expense (or risk).
