the another box comes up and says "this request took longer than expected.try again later"whats up with that?

well this has happened to me a lot of times and ive never been kicked out of a chat or violated any rules or anything~and i have cable hi speed so i doubt its that my internet is too slow...

It's just a glitch; most likely, the chat servers are overloaded. When they are overloaded, they can either immediately recognize the problem and reject (refuse) your chat request, or they can attempt to make your chat connection but then reject it because it's taking too long due to the server load. Try again later.

They refused your request to join a chat. You are on dial-up and it is so slow that it gave up on providing you with that service.
