I know a lot of couples now in their 80s where the woman was a virgin when they got married and those marriages lasted 50-60 years, ending only when one of them died. There is also a higher divorce rate among those who lived together prior to marriage.

Absolutely not. You should not have sex until you are married. Extramarital sex is a sin! God wants us to save ourselves for our spouses. It is worth it. What is your friend going to find out from sleeping with someone? That he doesn't love her after all because the sex is bad? That's stupid. If he has to "test-drive" a woman before he'll "buy" her, he's not thinking of her as a human being and will have a very disappointing relationship as a result.

It may be imperative for your friend, but it's obviously not imperative for everybody, seeing as there are many happy marriages between people who married as virgins.

no. i don't think so. you should feel a good connection and kind of a "buzz" when you are together physically in other ways (ie kissing, ect) that should be a good indicator of how you will be together in bed. but also know that the best couples take the time to learn eachother, which takes time...and usually trust and intamacy which a good marriage should provide.

abstinence is a moral issue that must be decided by each individual, if a relationship falls about because the sex is no good, then what is the point of it? marriage should be about the other person not about sex, if there are issues they can be worked on.

It is wise to know if your compatible intamately before the wedding otherwise your relying on pure luck and if you end up not being compatible, then you need to communicate effectively with one another to become so.
