I work at a grocery store and my manager is giving everyone 10 cent raises for every 500 hours of work, is this legal?

...And by that, you mean for every 500 hours you work, you'll get an extra 10 cents? Man, that's a cheap raise. But there's no law that says managers are required to give raises.

Besides, if you want more money, work somewhere else. Working in a grocery store is lame.

Based on a 40 hour week, that is a raise every 12 and 1/2 weeks, or roughly every quarter. 40 cents annually. I know many people in office jobs who do not get this much of an annual raise, if they even get a raise every year.

Most grocery stores have unions. If you have a problem with it, I suggest you talk to them. But, yes, it is legal.

Be glad you're getting a raise at all. No company is required to increase anyone's wage ever. If you don't like your salary, find a better job.

Yes, they don't even HAVE to give you a raise if they don't want to. I work in grocery also.

Yes. A company is not obligated to give you a raise.

Yes it is. You have the right to leave the store but they do not have the right to let you go without cause.

yes it is legal,that's like 40cents a year.that's not a whole lot, but just think they don't have to give you that.and on the other hand at least you have a job
