Well, if you want to be technical, it was the Orlando Magic, who picked him with the #1 pick that year. But then Golden State drafted Anfernee Hardaway at #3, and then they traded with each other just minutes later. So Webber was an Orlando player for all of about 15 minutes, but first suited up for Golden State.

Chris Webber was selected with the first overall pick by the Orlando Magic in the 1993 NBA Draft. The Magic promptly traded his rights to the Golden State Warriors for the draft rights to Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway and three future first-round draft choices. In his first season, Webber averaged 17.5 points on 55% shooting from the field and helped the Warriors to a 50-32 record and a playoff berth. He also contributed 9.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 2.16 blocks per game.
