No,

The main reason we are in Iraq is to regulate the production of oil, keep it low so OPEC prices are not increased.

This decision was made during the war by Big Oil, this is when Bremmer left, the neo-con.

Big Oil stepped in and shut down the neo-cons plan to restructure the whole region etc.

You will see in the next few days the begining of the end of this war.

It is already being reported in England that the new Iraqi Prime Minister is calling (on US recomnendation) for a massive US troop reduction. This is why Kerry (for political reasons) took to the Senate floor so this cut and run pullout looked like it was the work of the Democrats, all to drum up votes for the Fall.

The oil is well regulated, plenty of it for many many years...

For the exact details of what I have mentioned, you should read Greg Palast's new book Armed Madhouse, it is not a left-wing or right-wing (meaningless terms really) book. It is investigative journalism and the facts are all documented. It isn't some JFK theory BS either.

I just finished it, and it blew my mind.

Absolutely; as India and China become major players in consumption for world oil we have a market problem. There isn't enough supply to go around.

The US is also hampered by a lack of refinery capacity. We haven't build a new refinery in nearly 30 years...thanks to the NIMBY and anti growth modes of the enviro wackos....

Define your terms. There is still lots of oil, but now the oil companies know they will not get in trouble making obscene profits, they will continue to sell it high.

No there is much oil, the oil company's are cheating you and me and artificially jacking up the prices. I have yet to have anybody convince me otherwise.

no , thats just another scam they come up with just to get you worried about something that doesnt exist so that the major issues are not seen,
you need to look out for the bigger picture, the government works thru the media to get people to worry about useless issues.
