when I go out to eat and ask for more pop. they look at me like WTF? oh, more coke please...lol

Oh my God I need a Dunks...when I get there I want a medium iced extra-sugar extra skim and a toasted whole wheat lite creme on the side please.
I was driving one day in Massachusetts where I live with a friend from Ireland.

I was lacking sleep and was exhausted so I made the statement above. I just about split a gut trying to translate what I had just said in Massachusetts into English!

Well, this isn't a phrase or saying but when ever I went up north we stopped at a McDonald's for breakfast and I asked for a biscuit and gravy and the person just looked at me like I was nuts....

When I go back north and ask for sweet tea I always get we have tea and the sugar is over there. The reason we serve sweet tea in the south is because sugar does not dissolve well in cold liquid they sweeten it before they ice or chill it!

Let's see. .. when I went to Indiana from Connecticut in the late 80's they always looked at me odd when I asked for 'soda' and a 'grinder' (pop and sub for other parts of the country).

Tthis is silly but true. The word is "FI" (pronounced, Fi as in the word "hi" with an "F") It's an adjective describing when something is really really good, preferably food. Example: "Man, these french fries with hot sauce is FI!"

In FL we call anyone that acts, looks, or talks diferent a Yankee. And I don't mean as in baseball. If you do act, look, and talk like a Floridian your concidered a "Florida Cracker". In other words a native. :-)
