I think you are asking about what is usually referred to as race, being defined as either black or white people. If so, I believe it is commonly attributed that "white" or Caucasians generally originate from Europe while "black" from Africa. In the US, it is now so common to have mixed white/black children and this has actually been going on for some time, that many people have a mixture of white and black within them even though they may physically appear to be all one race or the other. However, throughout the world, people of all races, nationalities, etc. are intermixing so much that eventually the world will be just one people. Will this stop all the fighting? Unfortunately people are fighting about too many other issues as well. What will it take to stop all the fighting is what is needed to be asked.

America is not about the melting pot, or black or white. What makes America America is the government. Though I hate the government, it was revolutionary for the time. Our government is designed to protect itself from it's own leaders, as well as protect the liberties and rights of the people. Yes, it was a slow process, but if you really study it you will realize that our government is what makes us America! Maybe you should ask yourself " WHY AM I DIVIDING IT INTO BLACK AND WHITE? What about the asians, or the obvious answer INDIGENIOUS Americans? Racism and the closed mind are still prevelant.

Do you mean who is American or do you mean who makes up America? The first true Americans were eroneously dubbed Indians by Christopher Columbus then almostly completely wiped out by the whites. As for who makes up America..or who is more American.... America is a melting pot of white , black , chinese , japanese, and many other races. One race is not more American than another or more deserving of being an American than another. Once an American citizen then you are America. Remember " United we stand , divided we fall."

can you clarify your question - did you mean "black" or white people - if it's what I think you asked, then you should have added all other "colors" that live in America, which is kind of black-and-white thinking anyway, don't you think?

all people born in America are American. Besides, hispanics already surpassed the blacks in number. "white" people don't consider hispanics to be white.
