Why does your window advertising new yahoo mail show a number of items in an inbox but it says at the top 14 messages and on the side only 6 messages?

After Outlook Express downloads your mail it will cuntinue to display the unread messages as new mail but Yahoo will show no new messages because you already downloaded them. Once you open them in Outlook Express they won't show as new mail anymore.

Once you read something from inbox it needs to be deleted or it will still show. But it will show empty on e-mail show because it is not new and you already read it.

have you opened some of the messages...the number on the side is unread messages
