why is it ok?

why is it okay for women to hit men or other women, but its not okay for men to hit women(but men can hit men)? Thats kinda unfair dontcha think? cuz women can hit pretty hard... and even if the man doesnt hit her hard he will still get in trouble...

Well I don't think anyone should ever hit anyone. But men , no matter how mad they get at a women shouldnt hit them. Its just stupid and pathetic. I mean how good can you feel about yourself by hitting a girl. And If a girl hit me then I musta deserved it because I don't push people to thoes levels.

nobody should ever be hitting another human being regardless of age, race or sex. No human should be beating on an animal either.
But that would be a perfect world and it isn't.
As far as the Domestic law violence reads, regardless of sex the person who harms their domestic partner physically goes to jail, directly to jail. It doesn't matter if it's a tiny little women putting a finger nail scratch on an Olympic wrestling champ dude.
But I understand in the real world, it does seem more socially acceptable for a woman to wack a guy and that society dictates that men should "never hit a woman". This is actually a fairly recent frame of mind. Have seen the movie Boondock Saints? A woman in that movie tells us about a law of the not too distant past where "the rule of thumb" was that a man could beat his wife with a stick no wider than a his thumb.
It could be possible that we have changed that attitude about hitting women because there was and still is an overwhelming to the point of being ridiculous number of women who are beaten to bloody pulps and also killed BY men. Not that it doesn't happen but it's rare that a man dies being beaten up by a woman.
I can speak from personal experience having lived in an extremely physically and verbally violent situation close to two years. I am not a wimp. I can fight back and I often did out of sheer terror but I can tell you in my case, and in the many, many books I've read about the subject, my man caused the greater harm to my face and body than I could ever do even if he stood still and gave me a free shot. What the worst part of all is that I loved this man and still do it kills me that he ruined our dreams together by feeling like I needed to be taught a lesson a few times a month. It hurt the most that someone I loved so much could do such a thing to me. I don't think I will ever recover and I'm certain I have lasting physical injuries in my hands....well...
I didn't mean to lecture or even poor all this out on your question. Sometimes it helps me to share my experiences kind of therapeutically and hope it helps some I guess. I understand what you mean though, it does seem unfair. We will only ever solve this problem by making hitting another person taboo regardless of sex or age.
Life is confusing.
Help raise the next generation of children of to see hitting is wrong.

Probably because since the beginning of time the world has thought of girls as being weaker than men. Therefore, even in today's society most people only think about a woman being hurt by a man instead of the possibility that women can and will hurt other women and men. Though people are coming around to the fact, or else you would not have asked this question.

I hear ya! I don't think it is fair and I dont think it is seen as Ok for a chick to hit a man. I think people just naturally think as a woman as weaker then a man so when they hear a woman hit a man they dont take it seriously. But it is like that is so many things, nothing is even sided when it comes to men and women.
Example: Two men kissing means they are most likely gay, two chicks kissing is just HOT. A man still gets paid more than a woman at the same job. A stay at home dad is looked at different than a stay at home mother, and moms still get custody of their kids more than dads. Guys can walk around with a shirt off but a girl cant just because they have more fat and glands? A girl can wear a bikini or board shorts to the beach, but guys in bikini bottoms (speedos) is gross! :)

That's not true where I live, if a woman hits a man she could go to jail if the man press charges, but that doesn't usually happen because the man knows she didn't hurt him. If anyone fighting man against man or woman against woman if either decide to press charge against the perpetrator, someone will be sending some time in jail.

I don't think that anyone said that it is okay for a woman to hit a man or another woman. Woman are arrested for domestic assault in the same manner that men are, it just doesn't happen as much.
