Madonna is very successful no one can deny that. Why was her American Life album labeled a flop? It did only sell 500,000 copies in the US but worldwide it was one of the most successful songs ever released so why the need to take away her acheivment and make her look like a failure.

Madonna does have a picture with a dog its a poodle and she is top less having a tea party in pigtails. It was done in response to her publisher forbidding her to depict pictures of sex with children and animals. She says she was like "gross like I'd do that", and since she is a rebel she included a dog but in the way people have said. Oi the rumor mill. She was however photographed naked in long beach hitch hicking. But that was like 15 years ago, and alot of women have done worse with no further ridicule.

I'm with you, Daniel. I have always loved Madonna and when she first started out she got alot of recognition for being innovative. the fact is, she keeps on reinventing herself and the music is amazing. Confessions on a Dance Floor is great. American Life is Great. When somebody lasts and perseveres as long as she has I think people like her more or become more disappointed.

I don't think America does, Daniel. True - American Life cd was more successful overseas, but I think that has more to do with the lowekey publicity (or lack thereof) by the record label and that she moved to England, her husband's homeland. We don't have the constant photos and soundbites that we used to have on her when she lived fulltime in the U.S. I don't anyone in their right mind would consider her a failure - no one has reinvented themselves more times, stretched themselves as she has -nor challenged "the establishment" in the multiple forms of the arts as she has.

She is an innovative and amazing talent, but I think that it put off alot of people when she came out with her book, "Sex". It was banned from alot of libraries. I heard that there is a picture of her f***ing a dog on the side of the road. That may have something to do with it.

umm...i dont think the world has it out for madonna...i certainly dont at least...why does the world have it out for britney spears?? shes the best...yet everyone acts like she sucks..

i think everyone is jealous or insecure with themselves so they hate her cause she isn't. i think she's awesome.
