I love Sesame Street and I have a nostalgic craving right now! It's a great show not just because I relive childhood memories, but because it has humor and pop culture references that I never got as a little girl. I think it's a great show for both kids and adults. Does anyone know which seasons has the sketches with Captain Vegetable, the Monsterpiece Theater sketch where Grover climbs the stairs, the Ernie songs "Put Down The Ducky" and "Rubber Duck You're The One", and that sketch where Ernie keeps bothering Bert by trying to cover up one annoying sound with another one, and the one with the singing orange? Those were some of my favorite sketches when I was younger. I'm not sure if those were new at the time or reruns but if they were new I'm guessing they'd be from the late 80's or early 90's because that's when I was a little girl.

Jessez what phase are you going through? When you're an actual adult you don't feel the need to act "grownup" and prove that you're an adult. I went through that phase at 11-15.

Yep it's been on since, I think, the late 60's or early 70's, so it would be expensive, at least for the consumer. I don't see how it would be for the people making it, since it's such a popular show, it should sell like hotcakes. I like it better when shows are released by the season, because first off, you get every single show, and second off, it makes it easier to locate which episode you want.

Oh, that would be so great if they did that.
I wish i knew how many episodes they did per year but that would be a lot of episodes if they made them available on DVD.
I know they used to show the old episodes from the '70's on Noggin but I'm not sure if they still do.
And you're never too old for Sesame Street! I'm in my 30's and my mom and I STILL sing songs that i learned when i was 2, 3 & 4 years old!!!

Well, I am very sorry. Sesame Street is released through direct-to-video releases by Sesame Workshop (CTW - Children's Television Workshop). These releases feature characters learning significant lessons. This may be technically why they don't even produce many episodes. I would love to sum it up. They are cheap and have other shows they would use on DVDs. There probably will be no future for the old Sesame Street! I HATE ELMO!

There are rumours that it may be released to coincide with the theatrical release of the animated clone wars movie this year. p.s. Leia only wears white in A New Hope and that is because she was captured at the beginning of the movie and held prisoner for most of the movie. When was her character supposed to get changed? In Empire Strikes Back she wears a light brown polar suit followed by some brown clothes when she gets to Cloud City. Also check out the outfits she wore in Return of the Jedi none of them were white (Jabba's slave girlout fit, Rowl). Must agree with your opinion of Jar Jar and Jake Lloyd but the worst part of the new trilogy would have to be Hayden Christenson's terrible acting.

Sesame Street will unfortunately NOT come out in a season format any time soon. There are a lot of reasons why, but the biggest reason is that it will not be cost effective.
