as long as he can hold his head up with no problem he should be okay in the entertainer. just put him in it and see how he responds to it, he may not like it yet, but he may have a blast, he wont get hurt those things are safe. and it will be good in helping him build muscles in his back and legs.

I'm not exactly sure what an entertainer is but my pediatrician is adamantly against walkers. Your son's muscles need to develop in a natural order. A walker can actually prolong learning to walk.
But if you are determined regardless, he needs to be able to sit up without toppling over.

Around 4 months it is fine for short periods of time. If he is in it too long then he may not develop good muscle tone/strength in his arms , trunk , and neck.
Studies in the last few years have shown that due to the "Back to Sleep" SIDS prevention campaign babies are ending up with poor and weak muscle tone so remember tummy time during waking hours is even more important than an exersaucer.

Mine is 4 months and has been using one since 3....All you have to do is if he doesn't reach the bottom, put a pillow underneath, and wrap a blanket around him so he doesn't lean forward too much...He will love it!!

i put my baby in something like that about the age your son is.
if you need to put a little baby pillow in front of him. like between him and the entertainer . it keeps them from hanging to far forward. but i think he at a good age to start him out in it. good luck

Roll up a towel or blanket and place it behind his back. It will prop him up, if he enjoys being in there, he's ready for it. Our daughter loved it at that age.

since all children are different and mature at different levels,it is hard to say but,i would think when he is able to hold up his head for more that thirty minutes,as his mother, really you are the only one who can answer this question.
