Still waiting to see the England that they should be but are not. They have a huge league and an abundance of players yet have failed to really impress and show any authority this WC. I don't think on their performances so far that they are worrying too many sides. They will have to play very well to defeat Portugal even though they have been decimated by bookings. The above poster got it right. They are just scraping through not really winning as such. Portugal are playing with spirit and passion, it means something to them. England thus far have not shown the enthusiasm or feeling that they are playing in the WC not a friendly match. The talent is there on paper but it's not coming together on the field as it should.

Really Uninspired
Apart from Beckhams Free-Kick goal, Can you remember the Ecudor Keeper having to make another save (Well there was a shot from Lampard, More of a back pass though)
England will really need to up they're performance for the match with Portugal.
The problem is that after EVERY game at this World Cup the England players have all said that they will have to improve in their next match. And it ain't happened yet.
It makes you wonder if they can lift their performance and play bette.
If you are all being honest here you will admit that England look like the worst Team to reach the last 8 so far, and of the 8 teams still to play in this round Italy, Ukraine, Brazil & Spain look likliest to qualify and Along with Germany, Argentina and your next opponents Portugal

England was OK. They almost scored several times. Lots of people criticized their play but they were adequate. It's not like they were playing Saudi Arabia or some terrible team like that. They will beat Portugal especially with the red card Portugal got. I doubt they'll go any farther though. But who knows, they have some really good players and could really kick *** if they get it together on any given day.

They tried their best and even though they were 1 man down, Portugal still never scored in the 90 minutes or even in extra time. Everybody knows England aren't the best at taking pens but at least they tried their best and got 1 in the back of the net!

Portugal are crap, but England are worse...I thought Holland played better and deserved it! sadly they weren't lucky with Portugal's put of game!!

Muted. I was quite bored. I even stopped waving my England flag. After watching that frenzied pace of the Mexico v Argentina game it was a bit disappointing - though victorious.

Bring Theo Walcott on I say, speed the pace up a bit! XD

England was mediocre today, I was expecting much more, but they got lucky and had the referee on their side.

To continue with their luck, Portugal got 2 guys with red cards and one injured.

That's good, at least Beckham is handsome, but their game is mediocre.

Very mediocore.............Ecuador almost scored early...........Portugal is alot better than Holland...........Holland can pass but cannot finish. Portugal Vs. England well be awesome.
