Well....it's kinda early into the season to say. I think so far we had one major tropical storm and media really exagerated the severity of it and unneccesarily blew it out of proportion.

It was supposed to hit here...Tampa area..., but swung NE and rode above us. All we got was some bad rain and wind, but I know counties north of me got it alot worse....but certainly nothing extremely major...like the damage a major hurricane would cause.

I'm hoping for a mild hurricane season this year...but you never know. The hurricanes seem to be getting stronger and more frequent over the years....and sometimes they sneak up on you fast without enough warning. We seem to be getting a majority of the hurricanes here on the Gulf of Mexico lately. Seems like they're not so hungry for the Atlantic coast anymore. I do know I usually ignore the warnings and the evacutions....but my luck....I'll end up really regretting that someday.

BTW....my niece lives is Boloxy, Miss. She got hit hard with Katrina last year. She got 9 feet of water in her home...1 story home with crawl space. Water was to her roof. She had home owners insurance....but no flood insurance. The only thing insurance would cover was a tree that fell and crush part of her roof in. She lost everything she had and is still struggling to start over.

Sorry this was so long....I guess I went way beyond answering your simple question. Typical of me to not know when to shut up...lol.

At this rate it will be worse then ever! I'm not looking forward to the power outages, I didn't have any power for 8 days with Wilma last year and I was blocked in my house by a tree for 2 days.

Buckle up......It keeps more people away from enjoying our state. Sucks for those in mobile homes. And it beats the hell out of tornando alley.
