Friends, enimies, family, and random people such as my doctor tell me I should model. I love fashion and have always had an intrest since i realized I was pretty tall but I never had the confidence to belive I was pretty enough. Plus, I am very committed to sports and school. Yet, every day I fall in love with modeling more and more and I'm becoming more and more interested. I am 5'7 , 35 in. hips, 27 waist size 1/2 or 3/4. I live in a small city in Rhode Island. What is the best way to get started?

HAVE A GOOD PORTFOLIO MADE OF YOU. USE DIFFERENT
STYLES OF CLOTHES, HAIR STYLES, MAKE-UP LOOKS DIFFERENT SETTINGS, AND DIFFERENT POSES. DON'T BE
AFRAID TO SHOW YOUR FASHION SENSE WHEN YOU PICK
OUT YOUR OUTFITS. TRY ALL KINDS OF POSES TOO. YOUR MOST IMPORTANT SHOT IN YOUR PORTFOLIO IS A GREAT HEAD-SHOT OF YOURSELF. THE ONE THAT CAN CONVEY NOT ONLY YOUR BEAUTY, BUT YOUR PERSONALITY TOO. SECOND TO THAT WOULD BE SOME ORIGINAL FULL LENGTH SHOTS IN DIFFERENT POSES AND DRESS. THEN YOU WANT TO HAVE OTHER SHOTS OF DIFFERENT STYLES, TO SHOW CASE YOUR ABILITY TO PERFORM, OR AS IT'S CALLED; PLAY TO THE CAMERA. DO SUCH LOOKS LIKE SPORTY, CLASSY, CASUAL, PLAYFUL, SERIOUS, CUTEY, GROWN-UP, AND YOUR WILD CARD. YOUR WILD CARD IS A STYLE AND DRESS THAT IS SOMETHING YOU WOULD SEE ON THE RUNWAY OR A PARIS FASHION SHOW. PLAY WITH YOUR MAKE-UP AND HAIR TO DESIGN A LOOK THAT HASN'T BEEN DONE BEFORE. THE WILD CARD POSE IS THE TIME TO PUSH THE LIMIT. EVEN TO THE POINT WHERE YOUR FRIENDS WOULDN'T EVEN NOTICE YOU. OH, AND YOU DON'T HAVE
TO HIRE AN EXPENSIVE PHOTOGRAPHER. IF YOU OR
YOUR FAMILY OWN A DIGITAL CAMERA AND VIDEO CAMERA
AND YOU HAVE SOMEONE THAT CAN TAKE GOOD PICTURES, THAT'S ONES OF THE BEST WAYS TO GO. YOU
CAN TAKE HUNDREDS OR THOUSANDS OF PICTURES
THAT WOULD STILL BE CHEAPER THAN ONLY 1-200 OR
LESS FROM A PROFESSINAL. (BY THE WAY THEY COST ANYWHERE FROM MINIMUM $1,000.00- $6,000.00 AND UP,
AND THAT COULD ONLY BE PER SESSION.) WHILE YOUR
GETTING READY FOR YOUR SHOOT, MAKE-UP, HAIR, CLOTHES ETC...AND DURING, AND AFTER TH SHOOT. HAVE SOMEONE ELSE TAKING A VIDEO OF YOU, DURING THE ENTIRE TIME. SOMETIMES THE BEST PICTURE IS THE ONE THAT IS NATURAL AND UNEXPECTED. YOU CAN HAVE PICTURES MADE FROM THE VIDEO. DOWNLOAD YOUR
PICTURES ONTO YOUR COMPUTER USING A GOOD PHOTO PROGRAM. THEN YOU CAN VIEW YOUR PICTURES
WHILE DOING TOUCH-UPS ON ANY PROBLEM AREAS. FOR
EX. RED EYES, LIGHT TO LIGHT OR DARK, YOU CAN ZOOM
IN OR OUT TO CAPTURE SOMETHING THAT WENT UNNOTICED WHILE SHOOTING.YOU MIGHT HAVE TAKEN A FULL LENGTH PICTURE, BUT WHEN YOU ZOOM IN IT COULD BE A FABULOUS HEAD SHOT. THERE ARE MANY
OTHER THINGS THE PROGRAM CAN DO TOO. OH, I ALMOST FORGOT. PROPS, PROPS, PROPS!! USE EVERYDAY ORIGINAL PROPS. BUT ALSO USE ONES THAT
MAKE YOU PLAY WITH THEM. EX.. FLOWERS ARE GREAT.
HOLD THEM PUT THEM IN YOUR HAIR, USE YOUR IMAGINATION. HAVE DIFFERENT (REST AT BOTTOM)

Modeling agencies put ads in newspapers. The best agencies do not charge a fee and pictures are free. Modeling is time consuming and depending where the nearest agency is to your home town, depends on how far a committed person will have to drive you. In my area, it is a 2 hour drive, one way, 2-3 times a week, involves doing homework in the car, getting home late and some other inconveniences. If chosen for this kind of work, these are some of the same things you will have to contend with and it will interfere with sports and other school schedules.

find a school nearby and take a few classes. usually it works like this: you pay for a six week session, if you do well [and it sounds like you will] you go to a convention where you do a monologue and agents watch you and see if they'd like to represent you. at least, that's how it worked for my friend, check into it. where you are you might have quite a drive ahead of you a couple times a week, but if it's what you want, do it NOW before you lose your confidence.

you can't just waltz into a modeling studio without training. pretty girls come a dime a dozen so your skills are what will make you noticeable - talent helps but skills are what will get you where you want to go.

good luck!

Pose for photos, for your friends and family. Ask a trusted friend to take to portfolio pics of you, that you can send to modeling agencies. Then when one accepts you, accept their acceptance, and let them train you. Then once your training is completed, they'll assign you to a modeling job, or more. But always smile now and then, and always try to do your best, always do what the photogerapher said, or as close to it, as you can- don't worry about perfection. Never defy any rules or rquirements! But you need to also decide if you want to do nudes or not. It wouldn't hurt to do them, in your practicing sesssions. Another option is offer to model for photography, sculputre and/or painting students.

PLEASE watch who you talk to. Don't believe everything you see on the internet.

Try to search through friends and NOT the computer. You will NEVER know who you are talking to. You don't even know if I am male or female, just because my name is female.

Get my message??!! PLEASE be careful!!
